Gifts in Memoriam have an added poignancy when hospices are fundraising. Often bereaved families want to ‘do something’ for the place which cared for their relative – and themselves – during the emotional final weeks.
Rather than turn away offers to fund another bench in Woking and Weybridge hospice grounds (where there is simply not enough room) Mike worked with the hospices and renowned local artist, Heather Burrell, to create a pair of Trees of Life. Their leaves can be sponsored in memory and names recorded on a sign alongside the sculpture. Whoever arranged the gift receives a metal olive sprig keepsake in a presentation box as a memento of their loved one. They can also continue to visit the tree memorial for as long as they find it helpful.Back to work index
